This two-volume set follows the Nusach Sefard – Edut HaMizrach (communities of the East/Ottoman Empire). Finding this specific Eastern liturgy printed in the scholarly hub of Vienna is a significant find for collectors of Sephardic history.

Volume 1 (Rosh Hashanah): Printed in Vienna, 1853 (תרי"ג) by Adalbert della Torre.

Volume 2 (Yom Kippur): Printed in Vienna, 1886 (תרמ"ו) by Josef Schlesinger.

Blue Endpapers: Both volumes contain rare blue endpapers in the front and back, signaling a higher quality of production.

Personalized Liturgical Inserts: Inside the front covers, the owner (presumably Albert Levy) taped additional prayers. The Yom Kippur volume contains the Birkat Kohanim (Priestly Blessing), while the Rosh Hashanah volume contains a supplemental prayer sheet. Interestingly, the sheet in the Rosh Hashanah volume is titled as a prayer for Yom Kippur.

כרך ב’ (יום כיפור): נדפס בווינה בשנת תרמ"ו (1886) ע"י יוסף שלזינגר.

נייר כחול: שני הכרכים כוללים פורזץ (נייר בטנה) כחול נדיר ויוקרתי בחזית ובגב הספר.

תוספות תפילה: בעל הספר (ככל הנראה אלברט לוי) הדביק תפילות נוספות בכריכות הפנימיות. במחזור ליום כיפור מופיע דף ברכת כהנים, ובמחזור לראש השנה מודבק דף תפילה נוסף (הנושא את הכותרת "ליום הכפור").

  • Premium Endpapers: The front and back interior covers are lined with deep blue paper, which was often used in 19th-century luxury or premium bindings to enhance the book\'s aesthetic appeal and indicate quality.
  • Interior: The pages show moderate to heavy tanning and some foxing (age spots) typical of 19th-century paper, but the Hebrew text is clear and fully legible throughout.
  • Restoration/Stability: The book block is generally firm for its age.
