Notable Connection: This is a cornerstone "Foundational Text" of Hasidism. The author, a direct grandson of the Baal Shem Tov (בעל שם טוב), recorded many of his grandfather’s teachings first hand. This edition is particularly distinguished by its extensive and prestigious collection of Haskamot (approbations) from the greatest luminaries of the movement, spanning several generations of Hasidic leadership.

A Complete Assembly of Hasidic Approbations: This 1858 Lemberg edition is highly prized by collectors for its rare and comprehensive list of endorsements from the giants of the Hasidic world. These include:

  • The Maggid of Kozhnitz (המגיד מקוז’ניץ).
  • Rabbi Levi Yitzchak of Berditchev (רבי לוי יצחק מברדיטשוב).
