A significant Kabbalistic work featuring mystical commentaries and insights into the Tanakh and other sacred subjects. This edition was printed in Livorno (ליוורנו) in 1862 (תרכ"ב) by the renowned Elijah Ben Amozeg and Partners (אליהו בן אמוזג וחביריו) press. The volume includes the original errata sheet (לוח הטעויות) at the rear. It is housed in a period half-leather binding, featuring the inventory number "135" and hand-painted or stamped white identification text on the spine. This title has an established auction history, having been sold in March 2003 for $140.
Handwritten Inscription: The title page contains a significant dedication in Sephardic rabbinic script:
"קודש לה’ הקדישו אותו האחים בני הרב המחבר למנוחות מ"א המחבר זלה"ה לישיבת הרב דוד בן שמעון הי"ו" (Holy to Hashem. Dedicated by the brothers, the sons of the author Rabbi, for the repose of the soul of the author [their father], of blessed memory, to the Yeshiva of Rabbi David Ben Shimon, may God protect him and grant him life.)
Author: Rabbi Elijah B. Moses Hayyim (אליהו בן משה חיים).
Notable Connection: This copy was donated to the Yeshiva of Rabbi David Ben Shimon (רבי דוד בן שמעון), known as the "Devash" (הדב"ש). A legendary leader of the North African (Maghrebi) community in Jerusalem, he founded Mahane Israel (מחנה ישראל) in 1868—the first Jewish neighbourhood built outside the Old City walls by a communal organization. This volume serves as a direct link to the spiritual institutions he established in 19th-century Jerusalem.
