Buyer's premium:

Author/Printer: Printed by Shimon Isaac Joulkar (שמעון יצחק יולכאר) by order of the Cantors of the Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue.

Notable Connection: This rare pamphlet contains the Seder Hatarat Nedarim (סדר התרת נדרים – Order of the Annulment of Vows), following the specific custom of the holy community of Baghdad (עו"בי בגדאד). It was commissioned specifically for use in the iconic Keneseth Eliyahoo Synagogue in Bombay by its three Cantors: Elisha, Eliyahu, and Zechariah. Printed at the Education Society’s Press (אג’וקיישן סוסייתי פריס) in Elul 5645 (1885), this item represents the peak of the Baghdadi-Indian Jewish spiritual life during the British Raj. Small liturgical pamphlets like this were intended for heavy use and rarely survived in such a complete state.
