Description
Overview: A rare and historically significant handwritten rabbinic postscript letter fragment ("מכתב שוליים"), entirely written and signed in the distinct, fluent rabbinic script of one of the prominent pre-war rabbinic figures of Baltic Courland (Latvia).
Author: The eminent halachic scholar Rabbi Yehuda Eidel Chaim Bengis (הגאון רבי יהודה איידל חיים בענגיס). He served as a highly respected and central member of the official rabbinate in the major maritime Jewish center of Libau (ליבאו / Liepāja, Latvia) during the critical interwar period of the early 20th century.
Content: Written in dark purple ink on a neatly lined notepad sheet, the text flows in rapid rabbinic cursive script, signed at the conclusion by the author. The document remains completely unstudied and untranscribed, leaving an excellent window of discovery for collectors of Baltic and Latvian rabbinic history.

Details: The single leaf is physically intact, complete, and structurally stable. The paper retains its original light tan/cream toning with two neat circular filing punch-holes on the left margin, which are restricted to the blank space and do not compromise any part of the handwritten text.
Ink & Typography: The dark purple ink text block is beautifully preserved, rich in color, sharp, and completely readable without any fading or blurring.
