Description

An essential scholarly edition of the Mishna, highly prized by academics and traditional collectors alike, representing the pinnacle of mid-20th-century Israeli textual printing.

  • Title: Shisha Sidrei Mishna: Seder Moed (ששה סדרי משנה: סדר מועד / The Six Orders of the Mishna: The Order of Festivals). Includes the full text of tractates Shabbat, Eruvin, Pesachim, Shekalim, Yoma, Sukkah, Beitzah, Rosh Hashanah, Ta’anit, Megillah, Moed Katan, and Chagigah.
  • Commentary & Vowelization: Features the masterfully concise, authoritative commentary of the legendary scholar Chanoch Albeck (חנוך אלבק; 1890–1972), one of the pioneering figures of modern, systematic Mishnaic research. The meticulous vocalization (Nikkud / ניקור) was executed by the master linguist Chanoch Yalon (חנוך ילון), based strictly on oral traditions and ancient grammatical manuscript codices.
  • Publication Details: Jointly published in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv by the prestigious Bialik Institute (מוסד ביאליק) and Dvir Co. (דביר) in 5719 (1958). Printed at the historic Strod Press, Tel Aviv.
  • Collector’s Premium Feature: This copy remarkably preserves the original, highly loose yellow errata/correction insert sheet ("תיקונים לסדר מועד"), which details necessary page and line textual adjustments. Loose print components like this are almost always lost over decades of library handling, making its presence a notable value add.
  • Notable Connection: Professor Albeck’s edition fundamentally revolutionized Mishna study by blending classical rabbinic commentary with rigorous, modern scientific analysis, making this classic green-cloth volume an irreplaceable staple of institutional libraries and high-end private Judaica collections.
